Artist's block is an evil evil thing, so I'm trying to push myself out
of it with work that's both simple yet entertaining.
I started this just wanting something calm and natural, and then the
symbol to the right just came and now I feel this peice has something to
do with the cyclical nature of life. I'm wondering if the idea with the
symbol, and the overall composition of the character translates to
others so tell me what you think the the meaning of the parts have, if
any, to you or what you think I wanted them to mean.
I love symbolism in art. ^.^ Lets me get into my own head and express
what I find. I can even get into your heads too when I get feedback and
responses. *cackles peculiarly*

Oh, yes, and any suggestions for a background would be nice.

Oh, yes, and any suggestions for a background would be nice.
Well, stars are traditional, followed by a rainbow swirl. If you want to
get esoteric, try a nebula... the nursery of the stars.

As for meaning... given the position of the character (and that long tail),
it looks like a comet passing through the solar system on an elliptical
orbit (I'd say Halley's, given the orbital).

Interestesting veiw and with that stars would be a nice thought for a
background. My mate actually suggested the same thing. I colored the
character and the symbol and posted that a few post down and I think,
given that I want this to be sybolic of life, that I'll have her in a
womb, and I have to say I absolutely love the idea of a nebula! What
better cradle of life for all exsistance? Now I'm off to study a bit on
nebulas.

Greatly apriciated!

Glad I could be of service.:) There are a lot of good nebula pics at the
end of this link:

Looking at them, you might favor the Rosette Nebula... it makes a wonderful,
circular frame for the picture.

Oh, wonderful link. I think I'll try using the Trifid Nebula. It has a
perfect mix of stars and the apearance of an actual womb. Mmmm, This
will be an interesting challenge. Let's see if I can pull it off.

Thank you very much for the help. :)

Sometimes a cute kitty meditating upon a mandala is simply a cute kitty
meditating upon a mandala! ;D

Heya, I just had to chime up to say I really like the composition of this
piece... it really adds something to the character to have some context to
it. I could definitely see the 'craddle of life' idea that's been
proposed -- especially given the character's fetal position. ;)
Keep up the good work. :)
