The Rancho Cucamonga Public Library calls itself The ROC. In mythology,
the Roc is the gigantic bird of prey that can pick off an elephant as
easily as an eagle snags a rabbit for lunch when it's not pelting
Sindbad's ship with boulders.
Dietary preferences and temperament aside, its keen vision would enable
it to know exactly what's on the shelves at all times.
